So much green to look at!

What I did this week:

s5

ugh!

hedge lion maybe? yeah?

-s5 textured, except the road and the hedge blocks, i'm thinking of turning it into hedge animals, say, two lion-shaped hedges by the gate.
-s4s4~5: better feather timing
-s4s4~5: combine the two shots, no camera cuts
-s4s8: book slide off a bit as her foot pushes off it to get onto the window frame
-s6s1: higher cloud position, so its more bouncey and floaty
-s7s1: shorten shot, see tiara sooner, less running
-s8s1: add bushes n same trees as next shot on the side, slow camera down as girl stops
-s9s1: first pose of girl needs to face screen left to match previous shot

-s15s1: full animation, except grass animation is still missing. Added fireflies coming out of grass as lion lands
-s15s2: pull fireflies closer to chest by the end of the shot to match next shot

-s16s3~end: second pass animation
-communicate with my musician

---------------------------------

Fetch isn't working, so there's no link this time. I'll bring the movie to class.

---------------------------------

What's for next week:

-s1s1 model/texture/rig/animate curtain
-finishing modeling/texturing s5 (road, hedge animal etc.)
-s8 texturing and modeling, bring in bushes and trees to match s 9
-give girl a shoe bottom texture
-animate s3~5

Reading Week is still Production Week

This week's list:

1st priorities:
FEEDBACKS BATCH #1
-s9s1: add timing to lost tiara acting, shorten it, switch slouch pose to the end and transition into next shot
-s9s2: keep eyes and hands still
-s9s3: keep girl action here but use s9s4's camera angle instead
-s9s4: erase bg grass keyframe
-s9s5: pose and frame better, make the girl go eat berry, and react to sour berry
-s9s7: pick up speed on lion acting here, have a longer pause after lion pushes tree before apples fall
-s9s8: get rid of girl's cross-eye
-s10s1: put lightning bolt here, remember to make it a lower angle
-s11s1: cut this shot
-s12s2: speed up entire shot, wings go into pose faster when lion growls
-s13s1: more exaggerated flying animation, make lion push and ascend faster, no constant timing, by the end of this shot lion should be back-faced to camera
-s13s2: speed this shot up
-s13s3: speed this shot up, we see lion go into cloud here
-s14s1: shake less
-s14s2: cut this shot
-s14s6: stronger timing
-s15s1: faster landing and cushion with reverse-engine flaps (bird landing ref pls), have impact when landing
-s15s2: block out action more, she's looking for fireflies in the grasses
-s17s2: speed up action here slightly
-s18s1: continues to run towards the desk, shoves chair aside here
-s18s2: cut this shot
-s18s4: cut this shot, no more governess
----------
FEEDBACKS BATCH #2
-s4s4~5: better feather timing
s4s4~5: combine the two shots, no camera cuts
s4s8: book can slide off a bit as her foot pushes off it to get onto the window frame
s6s1: higher cloud position, so its more bouncey and floaty
s7s1: shorten shot, see tiara sooner, less running
s8s1: add bushes n same trees as next shot on the side, slow camera down as girl stops
s9s1: first pose of girl needs to face screen left to match previous shot
s15s2: pull fireflies closer to chest by the end of the shot to match next shot

2nd priorities:
-s3~5: second pass animation
-communicate with my musician

3rd priorities:
-s3s2: texture library door
-s3s1: hallway paintings texture
-s5: texture/model all props here (ext. castle walls, hedge, barrier, gate, road)

-----------------------------------------------------------

I shaved off 30 seconds since last week, tightened up some shots:

-----------------------------------------------------------

This week's texturings update:

Nose shape changed. Added neck deco.

Lowered saturation and background brightness.

Library door textured.

First .. passsss?

Other than the library door, I've done what's on my TO-DO list from last week, and they areee:

-s2: one more royal portrait
-s9s1: fix acting
-s9s3: have a bonding gesture of the girl and the lion
-s9s6: have the lion's left forearm push the tree instead of jumping on it
-s10 on: block out rest of the film

Yes, that's a wig. That's why the hair colors don't match.

This is my initial idea for the bonding scene: a simple hug. But the poses got weird cuz the lion's arm gesture literally says GET AWAY FROM ME, plus... he has claws D: So in the end, I kept the reaching out part and changed the rest.

A quick 2D blocking of the girl running out of her room. Some poses got changed in 3D, it's rly nice you just figure things out on your way.

-----------------------

Next week's TO-DO list:

-s3s2: texture library door
-s3s1: hallway paintings texture
-s5: texture/model all props here (ext. castle walls, hedge, barrier, gate, road)
-fix animation feedback from tues class
-s4~6: second pass (as much as possible)

Pass Ones on Half of my Film!

So, i've only been animating this week. Sadly, there are no textures to look at.

Here's half of my film with first passes (except the first few shots), have a look:

I stopped at sequence 9, but it's an important scene where the girl reacts to her missing tiara. There are a lot of acting, so I've only planned it so far. Let me know what you think:

Oh and, this is my planning for the window climbing scene earlier on:

Tuesday, 13 January 2015

We meet again, tuesday!

I've been texturing and animating (need to animate more next week), trying to follow my new schedule as closely as possible.

lion plushie

textured hallway

second hallway portrait
textures

library book

New production schedule, made with consideration of a lot of space in-between for other projects and class works. Hopefully this one will be more realistic.

The animation I did is linked below. For seq2 shot1, I made 2 versions of blocking of the same scene, I brought them in and asked the class to vote. W ended up using the 2nd version with the flower petal toss.

Back from winter break, time to chop chop!

It has been a wonderful break, I reunited with a lot of old friends, and I spent tons of time with my family. Now that I've "played hard", I am ready to dive back into my last, and most critical semester of my university life!

These are the things I've done during break:
-texturing princess room

-textures by themselves

-some things missing from this room are:

---lion doll by the pillow
---missing quilt/curtain texture + rig

-emblem is designed

-there are some really minor animation work too, but yeah.. its not much really *hides*
