So yeah, this week is all about fixing animations and doing some patch up work. The list of fixes is written in my last post.

Second last post... hopefully?

The film has been completely comped this week. However, there are still tons of small issues + improvements to make in the time that's left. Here's a list:

MAJOR:
***s14s6 fix wing flap animation
-s14s7 cloud painting color transition better + re-paint

-s9s1 patch wrist shading; patch yellow banner
-s9s2 fix sudden shadow on her head

Things are shaping up!

 What happened this week?

-Got full score for my film (musician is now working on mixing and sfx, then voices next)
-Animated s12, s13, s14
-Rendered from s5s1 to s9s6
-Painted the cloud face scenes (colors will change)
-Comped... nothing (I ran out of time!)
-Made poster for my film
-WIP with my press kit

What will happen next week?

-Animate s15 with particles fireflies
-Animate particle cloud trail in s14s3
-Render s9s7 to s15s5
-Comp as many shots as possible
-Figure out the sunset paces during transition of s14 >>> s15
-Make trailer for film
-Submit press kit
-Render final film

Forest and Sky


This week I got the animation to 80% done. 


Here's a few texture maps I've done for comping, but I haven't rendered anything this week.

The Cocoon is Melting...

What I've done this week:


-Discussion with musician, fixed 30 second sample. Send whole film's music spotting.

-Animated s4 (almost done) and all the scenes that's ready for render but are missing the hair and cloth animation.

-Textured s8

-Rendered 18 shots

Comped first 3 shots

-give girl a shoe bottom texture

Next week's forecast:
-s6s1: have girl fall faster, heavier impact, more cloud squash and bounciness.

-s5s1 re-do wing tip animation, have more feathers there

-Animation for s4~s9 (see how much i can catch up on)

-Render s4

-Comp s2s3~s2s5 and s3, s18 if there's time.

Ugh Oh, I'm Sick


Sickness brought my productivity down a bit, so I've only done these things this week:

- added more detail to library door texture
-finishing modeling/texturing s5
-animate s3~5 (70%)
-s5s6: lion gestures faster, change facial expression to surprised/concern
-communicate with musician



UNDONE + NEXT WEEK:
-s1s1 model/texture/rig/animate curtain
-s8 texturing and modeling, bring in bushes and trees to match s 9
-give girl a shoe bottom texture
-s6s1: have girl fall faster, heavier impact, more cloud squash and bounciness.
-add any missing hair/dress animation in s1~s2
-s5s1 re-do wing tip animation, have more feathers there
-s6~s8 animation

I posted an ad on Craigslist and had a bake-off with multiple sound designers. I listened to a couple of 30-second samples they made for me, and I've found my musician! The sample has been added to my latest playblast. Note that it's only draft 1 so there are a few places that will change later.
