More render tests for grad panel, production schedule etc...

First of all, here are some texturing I've done:

apple!

trees.. barks...trunks....shrooms..grasss...flowers...

This is the 2nd still image that I showed in grad panel:
passes
pre-comp (how it looks rendered in masterlayer)
post-comp

This is the 3rd still image that I showed in grad panel:
passes
pre-comp (how it looks rendered in masterlayer)
post-comp (sky is re-painted)

Now... production schedules:

This is the super rough version of the production schedule I have for the Spring semester, I don't like to go into too much details since things change too easily.
This is a detailed schedule for Dec and Jan. I tried to spread everything out as best as I can, with proper break times and realistic work load. However, this is still an ideal plan since I cannot predict how busy I'll get if I have to work on other projects at the same time. Same with when school returns in January, it will be another story. But with those in mind, I'll just have to keep adjusting my schedule as necessary.

Also, here's the link to the 3D blocking of my whole film (suggestions from last class has not been added yet):

Moar Textures + Render Test

Some texturing I've done:

Library Interior texturing done over the last two weeks

Royal portrait of the girl's ancestor(???), floor and grass tile textures

I've began to experiment with rendering. This is the 1st still image I will be showing at grad panel:
passes and masks

pre-comp
post-comp

First 30 seconds in 3D?

I rigged the lion's this week, plus...

Made the first 30 seconds of my film into 3D, well the environments are just place holders for now, I tried to put in some values with the limited time I have:

Almost thereeeee!

First thing first, last class there were suggestions for giving the lion's eyes a new look. Well, here are some tests. To be honest though, I'd still like to stick to my concept art so I will keep that "blank" eye.

Oh hello there Robin (Teen Titans), so you have it too!

This week, I modeled and painted the lion's wings, and rigged everything except for the eyes and mouth. Also, I find my wings very problematic, I have to come up with a way to fold it nicely when it's not using the wings, cuz right now when I fold it, it becomes a total mess (too embarrassed to show pic)! Anyways, I'll address those next week.

The animation test is ... well.. ... a test! So the hind legs are not fully animated, there could be a lot more secondaries ...etc etc.. stuff like that. But you'll get the point.

Textured Lion

Well, here it is the lion fully textured.. exceptttttt for the wings.. and of course, texture isn't final yet either, it will require some more detailing.

Studying + Further WIPing

Studying all the free quadruped rigs

Screencapped a run cycle animation at varies stages and found the joints

Further modeling, all is done except the wing. The wing will be on its own mesh.

UVs

Facial texture.. and I'm running out of time :S

Lion Modeling WIP

Modeling.. modeling.. it always take longer than you expect.. topology is tricky business. There aren't enough time to quad-ify everything, looks like I'll have to live with some triangles...

By my current progress, it looks like I will need:
---1.5 week to finish modeling and texturing
---2 weeks to rig
---1week to do animation test.

October =>>> Finish lion character
November =>>> Animate film with filler environment models
December =>>> Render one section of film for review panel

Short Update

This has been a busy week, I refined my animatic according to last week's feedback, and I tried to settle down on the lion's look.

When the wings are folded, I will shrink it a little bit so it does not get in the way that much.

When wings are stretched out, it'll be bigger.

Shorter Animatic

I colored in the bedroom concept art.

The flower that the girl wears will be a white lily flower. The symbolism seem to fit.

I have been switching between different tasks to keep things interesting. This is a textured model of the bottled-ship from the library.

I tried to trim my animatic by leaving out excess scenes and shortening several sequences. The animatic was 5 minutes before and now 3:50 minutes long.

Bye summer break

So... summer is over! I've been busy with summer school and projects in the latter half of summer,  this is a summary of what I've done during the first half:

Since the only concept art I drew was of the library, I began modeling the room!
this is the entire library modelled according to my concept art

there is nothing fancy with the topology, i'm just trying to keep it as low-poly as possible without loosing too much shape

at the end of the day, the textures will add most to the looks, so the untextured models WILL look boring at this stage!

ships in a bottle... this may be here because I just finished playing AC4!

yes, everything in the room has their UVs laid out!
book textures!

book textures on model! woot! :D

the pot of plant is textured too!

and side by side comparison of concept art and textured model

since this is the real deal, I painted out all the details that I couldn't include in my concept art
Other than the library, I've also started drawing the concept art for the girl's bedroom. I will start to color this very soon.

To-Do List:

-shorten the film down to around 2 mins
-color bedroom concept art
-continue texturing the library
-design and model lion character
